Key Specs at a Glance

Who is the Honda HRG 466 XB for?

The HRG 466 XB is suited to homeowners with lawns up to 450 m² who want the convenience of cordless without sacrificing the cutting performance they would expect from a petrol mower. It is also a strong choice for anyone who already owns Honda battery tools on the Universal Battery System, as the same battery works across the range.

Honda recommends the 6Ah DP3660XA battery for this mower. Please note the battery and charger are not included.

Commonly asked: How far will the Honda HRG 466 XB mow on one charge? Up to 450 m² when used with the 6Ah Honda battery. Actual coverage depends on grass density, moisture, cutting height, lawn gradient and how often you stop and start.

Versamow Selective Mulching

The HRG 466 XB uses Honda’s Versamow Selective system, which lets you choose how you manage grass cuttings on every mow. Collect cuttings into the 50-litre grass bag for a clean, tidy finish, or switch to mulching mode to finely shred cuttings back into the lawn as a natural fertiliser. No separate attachment needed. You decide at the start of each cut.

Brushless EC Motor and Thermo-Smart Battery

The brushless EC Motor is the reason the HRG 466 XB can rival petrol. Brushless motors are more efficient, run cooler and last significantly longer than traditional brushed motors. Combined with Honda’s Thermo-Smart battery technology, the system monitors temperature and current to maintain consistent power delivery throughout the charge rather than tailing off as the battery depletes.

Commonly asked: Is the Honda HRG 466 XB as powerful as a petrol mower? For most domestic lawns, yes. The combination of the 1.8 kW brushless motor and Thermo-Smart battery delivers stable performance that Honda rates as a direct rival to its petrol Izy range.

Built for British Conditions

The HRG 466 XB carries an IP54 weatherproof rating, meaning it is protected against dust and water spray from any direction. It is designed for year-round use in the kind of wet, unpredictable conditions typical of South Wales gardens.

The pressed steel deck is lightweight for easy manoeuvring while remaining hard-wearing, corrosion resistant and UV stable. The durable steel frame is built to last, and Honda backs that with a rock-solid warranty covering parts and labour for both domestic and professional use.

On the warranty: the cover maintains the same value throughout the full warranty period. The last day of cover is worth exactly the same as the first day. Subject to domestic use and following Honda’s service schedule.

Honda Universal Battery System

The HRG 466 XB runs on Honda’s Universal Battery System, meaning the battery is compatible with other Honda cordless garden tools. If you are building out a cordless toolkit, every battery you buy works across the range.
